CheckedSafe Win Gold At UK Bus Awards

The Checkedsafe team have added yet another prestigious award to the trophy cabinet after winning the coveted Gold Award in the “New Horizons Category” (sponsored by Institute of Road Transport Engineers) at this year’s annual UK Bus Awards.

The awards were held on the 23rd of November at the Ballroom, South Bank, London with over 800 industry leaders in attendance.

The “New Horizons Award” is intended to be a showcase for creativity and innovation. As such, successful nominees for this Award needed to be able to demonstrate the development of an original or novel idea, or the application of a technological solution, that achieves one or more of the following:

  • Improves the image of the bus
  • Stimulates interest in, or desire for, the bus product
  • improves the viability or efficiency of the industry

The Award was made for the innovation or technological application which, in the opinion of the judges, most contributes to the improvement of the bus Industry.

Over the years, the UK Bus Awards has played a key role in raising the profile of buses, bus drivers and the industry generally, recognising and rewarding the achievements of bus industry staff and inspiring others with the examples set by the winners.

The awards rightly have a high profile to celebrate the best that the industry has to offer. Just to be nominated is a huge accolade in itself but to actually win an award is a huge achievement.

Darran Harris, Co-Founder of Checkedsafe said “it’s a huge honour to be recognised in these prestigious awards. Winning Gold highlights our commitment to making advancements in the field of vehicle compliance and safety. The Bus industry is currently undergoing huge changes to modernise the fleets and working practices. The fact that the bus industry has embraced technology such as ours demonstrates that commitment. This award is a great reward for all of our dedicated team.
