Crescar

Crescar are a major consultancy business, based across the Middle East and the UK. Crescar have recently rolled out CheckedSafe with one of their customers in Oman to help implement a modern system to replace inefficient, paper-based practices, and helping to optimise fleet and mobility operations across the region.

Crescar

CheckedSafe has been rolled out by Crescar, with one of their customers in Oman, supporting their fleet operations with a fully digital vehicle compliance solution. As part of this implementation, Crescar introduced CheckedSafe across their customers fleet to improve safety, improve reporting accuracy, and streamline daily checks.

To understand how the rollout has worked in practice, we spoke with the Crescar team about their experience, including the implementation process, driver adoption, and the operational benefits they have seen since rolling out CheckedSafe with their customer in Oman.

We asked Crescar a few questions, here’s what they had to say about our system and their experience so far:

  1. Can you tell us about Crescar and your presence in Oman?

Crescar is a premium strategic advisory specialising in transport, mobility, and operational advisory services. Since its establishment in 2020, Crescar has supported organisations across the Middle East, Far East, UK, Eire and Europe with market entry, contract and tender bidding, project mobilisation, strategic planning, and operational implementation.

Working across markets including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, the UK, Eire and Oman, Crescar also partners with organisations to deliver practical solutions that improve operational performance to drive better end customer & passenger outcomes and support long term growth.

For example, in Oman, Crescar works with clients in the transport and operational sectors to help implement modern systems to remove inefficient, paper-based practices, helping optimise fleet and mobility operations, and supporting successful project delivery across the region.

  1. What challenges was your customer facing before implementing CheckedSafe?

Prior to implementing CheckedSafe, the customer relied on manual, paper based vehicle inspection processes. This limited visibility across the fleet and made it difficult for managers to monitor compliance and vehicle condition effectively.

The project operates in an oil field located outside Muscat where access to the site is restricted and operational teams work in a remote environment. Because of this, collecting and reviewing paper inspection records was not always straightforward and there were often delays in receiving accurate information from the field.

Paper records could be delayed, misplaced, or submitted inconsistently dependent upon who completed it, making it difficult to confirm that daily vehicle inspections were being completed as required. Defects were sometimes reported late which made it harder to plan vehicle maintenance in a timely manner.

As a result, coordinating maintenance became more challenging and minor issues could develop into larger problems, occasionally leading to unnecessary vehicle downtime and disruption to operations.

As the fleet continued to grow, it became clear that a more reliable digital compliance system was needed to improve visibility, speed up defect reporting and support better maintenance planning, particularly for vehicles operating in remote locations.

  1. Why did you choose CheckedSafe?

CheckedSafe is an established vehicle checking system and it provided a practical and easy to use digital solution that aligned well with the operational needs of the customer. With Crescar as Checkedsafe’s local Gulf partner, who also knew their operations well from outside the Gulf region, we knew we were in safe hands.

The platform enables drivers to complete vehicle inspections using a simple mobile app while allowing managers to monitor fleet compliance and maintenance through a centralised online portal. This combination of driver usability and management oversight made the system particularly attractive.

Another important factor was the flexibility of the platform, which allows organisations to configure customised inspection templates, manage fleet documentation, and generate detailed compliance reports through a secure cloud-based system.

  1. How was the rollout process with your customer in Oman?

The implementation of the digital vehicle inspection system was delivered through a collaborative approach between Crescar and CheckedSafe, ensuring a smooth transition from traditional paper-based checks to a fully digital process.

Crescar supported the rollout by working closely with the client team, introducing the system to drivers and fleet managers, and providing initial training and guidance. Team supervisors were trained by Crescar on how to use the platform and subsequently supported drivers in completing their daily checks using the mobile application.

Because the system is intuitive and easy to navigate, adoption among drivers was very quick. Around 70% of drivers were actively using the system by the second day, with full adoption achieved within the first five working days.

Feedback from both drivers and fleet managers has been very positive. Drivers appreciate how simple the app is to use and how quickly they can complete their daily vehicle checks. The step-by-step inspection process makes checks clear and ensures that nothing is missed.

For managers, the biggest benefit has been real-time visibility across the fleet. Inspection reports can be accessed instantly, reported defects can be tracked more effectively, and vehicle compliance and maintenance requirements are easier to manage.

Throughout the rollout period, Crescar and CheckedSafe remained closely involved, supporting the client team, monitoring adoption, and ensuring the system was embedded successfully within daily operations.

  1. How have drivers and managers responded to the system?

Drivers appreciate how simple the app is to use and how quickly they can complete their daily vehicle checks. Adoption across the team was also very quick, with around 70% of drivers actively using the system by the second day, and 100% usage achieved within the first five working days.

The step-by-step process makes inspections clear and ensures that nothing is missed.

For managers, the biggest benefit has been real-time visibility across the fleet. They can access inspection reports instantly, track reported defects, and maintain a clear overview of vehicle compliance and maintenance requirements.

Throughout the rollout period, the Crescar team and the CheckedSafe team remained closely involved, providing support, monitoring adoption, and ensuring the system was embedded effectively within daily operations.

  1. What benefits have you seen since implementation?

Since implementing CheckedSafe, the customer has experienced several operational improvements.

These improvements include faster defect reporting, reduced administrative workload, and better visibility across the entire fleet. The digital inspection process has reduced defect reporting time by approximately 20%, while removing manual paperwork has significantly lowered administrative effort. Managers are now able to respond to issues more quickly and ensure vehicles remain safe and compliant.

The move from paper-based reporting to a digital platform has also improved accountability and made compliance management far more efficient.

  1. Would you recommend Crescar and CheckedSafe to other fleet operators or partners in the region?

Yes, we would recommend CheckedSafe and their local partner Crescar to fleet operators and partners across the region.

The system provides a simple but effective way to digitise fleet compliance processes and replace manual inspection systems. For organisations managing multiple vehicles (or in fact any asset that needs checking) or operating in remote environments, having real time data and structured reporting significantly improves operational control.

It helps fleet operators move towards a more professional and digitally managed approach to fleet safety and compliance.

  1. Do you think CheckedSafe could help improve safety standards in Oman?

Yes, digital compliance platforms such as CheckedSafe can play an important role in improving fleet and asset safety standards while also helping organisations reduce operational downtime.

By ensuring that vehicle inspections are completed consistently and recorded digitally, organisations can maintain stronger compliance processes, identify defects earlier, and take corrective action before small issues become larger mechanical problems.

This not only improves accountability and safety across fleet operations but also helps reduce unexpected vehicle breakdowns and operational disruption.

Wider adoption of digital fleet compliance tools could also support industry efforts to improve operational transparency, safety standards, and fleet reliability across commercial fleets in Oman.

A closing statement from Crescar:

Working with Crescar and CheckedSafe has allowed our customer in Oman to transition from paper-based inspections to a fully digital fleet compliance system. The platform is simple for drivers to use and provides fleet managers with real time visibility, helping improve safety, efficiency, and operational oversight.

Massive thank you to Crescar for taking the time to share their experience of using CheckedSafe!
